This season slows us down if we let it. Lights soften the dark. Carols hush the noise. And … the manger reminds us that God does His deepest work quietly. Not by pointing fingers. Not by parading flaws. Not by saying words we can’t take back. Not by missing opportunities to build each other … but, God works by shaping hearts from the inside out.
It’s easy to notice what others should fix. Turns into hurt, criticism, walls go up in defense.
Harder … and holier … to examine our own ways.
When we stand face to face with God, the questions won’t be about someone else’s choices. They will be about our own obedience, our humility, our growth.
Scripture shows us the pattern:
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. Luke 2:52
Jesus grew.
Slowly.
Steadily.
Silently.
From stable to strength. From cradle to calling. He didn’t rush maturity, and He didn’t demand perfection from others while avoiding it Himself.
Christmas wisdom whispers this: tend your own soul. Let grace guide your gaze inward. Let kindness curb criticism. Let love lead your living.
As candles glow and memories gather, pause for a gentle spiritual check. Not to condemn … but to mature. And may we, like Jesus, keep increasing… one quiet, faithful step at a time.
In His Love and Light,
Angie
