December 30, 2025 Resolution Planning

What is your greatest need today – at this moment? Is it an earthly, human need? Or is it spiritual?
At the beginning of every year since I was probably about nine (! 😝) I’ve started with a resolution to lose 20 pounds. Of course, the thought starts with a Dr. Pepper in one hand and hot dog in the other. And, the diet can’t start on the 1st, it has to start on the 2nd because there is foodie-celebration on the 1st. Then it gets pushed to the following Monday. Because – who starts a diet on a weekend. And, somehow over the weekend it gets forgotten
God just wants me to eat healthy and trust Him with the process. He doesn’t care about the scale. It is always my mind that needs fixing – settled. My heart wants the filling of God. I’m sitting here this morning, thinking of how often I feed the surface while … it is my soul that is hungry.
Jesus speaks into that tension with steady clarity:
“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.” John 4:34
What would the new year truly look like if I reframed food so that it’s simply a tool to fuel my walk and purpose in Christ?
Food fuels.
Purpose in Jesus satisfies.
Obedience nourishes places bread never reaches.
When we pause long enough to ask God what He wants in this moment … not what might
fix,
or numb,
or distract – something shifts.
The ache eases.
The striving softens.
The soul exhales.
Your deepest need – my deepest need may not be what you or I think.
It may be to be fed by His will – and filled so simply by His work.
This is a pivotal brain-shift moment.
What resolutions do you have on your heart? How are you engaging God Most High, the God of the Angel Armies, The Creator of the Universe? The One who created you and me in the secret place with very specific, individually curated plans and promises to deliver us?
Let this be the day you and include Him in every single thought and plan.
In His Love and Light,
Angie
