January 8, 2026 To Sit With Him
Some nights, after the house finally goes quiet, I stand still and listen.
The clock ticks. The dogs, Sam and Annie Rose, settle. My breath slows.
And … I realize how fast the day ran past me.
Not in bad ways. Just… full ones.
I love this photo of us from eleven years ago. I can feel the moment. Bryan was on an internship in Alaska and my heart was homesick for him. We went and for a while all the world was right, all the clutter left so far away. Every sense was a heightened calm.
I think about how often I rush through moments I’ll never get back – conversations, sunsets, the chance to sit instead of scroll. Not because I don’t care. Because time has a way of slipping through open hands, doesn’t it?
Scripture says it plainly, without pressure or shame:
“Pay careful attention, then, to how you live – not as unwise people but as wise – making the most of the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15–16 (CSB)
That doesn’t feel like a warning to me … it feels like an invitation.
I hear the wind and see the promise of rain on radar. Please God, bring the rain, inches and inches. Amen.
This is intention …
slow down and
simply notice
where your feet are.
Be here now and choose what matters on purpose.
We don’t make the most of time by cramming more in. Sometimes we do it by being fully present … right here, right now.
Today counts.
And so do you.
Notice how it feels to simply be the child of God Most High.
Choose to be moved by His Spirit in you.
Sit this moment with Him.
And, really notice.
In His Love and Light,
Angie
