March 20, 2026 Pauses of Purpose

Sometimes, God puts these certain pauses in my life that make me think about things I normally don’t think about.
Like, how we get so caught up in the pace of ordinary days that the world feels loud and crowded.
Everyone has something to say.
Something to prove.
Something to point out.
And, if we are not careful, we start to feel like we’re falling behind … even when we’re standing right where God places us.
I’ve been working on taxes this week … because it is now mid March and I’m feeling ‘behind’ – April 15th deadline is coming – which requires an extra level of concentration, sitting at the computer. For hours. In that zone. It is … a lot – at least for my ADD brain. Intense – getting still and focused.
Plus, I don’t want to mess this up, so anxiety = high. I just want to get it right. So it is ready when Dale goes in to finish.
Then, yesterday, I worked on flower beds.
No rush.
No noise.
Just a slow unfolding … a reminder that not everything meaningful moves fast.
In a social media world where the ads and message is always chasing more, maybe the quiet work still matters most.
“Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind.” Ecclesiastes 4:6
There is a pace your soul recognizes.
A gentle rhythm where you can breathe again … where your shoulders drop … where your thoughts settle.
That pace is not lazy.
It is led.
You and me – we do not have to keep up with everything we see … we can choose what God has already given.
And, that is enough.
What would it feel like to you, if you to let “enough” be enough today?
In His Love and Light,
Angie
