August 31, 2026 Desperation

The ponds and the creeks are drying up.
There is something humbling about needing rain and water that what you and I cannot make.
We can haul the water.
Feed what needs feeding.
Stretch what we have.
But we cannot make it rain.
And … I suppose – this is where trust gets real, right?
“And if you will indeed obey My commandments that I command you today, to love the Lord your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, He will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the later rain, that you may gather in your grain and your wine and your oil.
And He will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.
Take care lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them; then the anger of the Lord will be kindled against you, and He will shut up the heavens, so that there will be no rain, and the land will yield no fruit, and you will perish quickly off the good land that the Lord is giving you.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭11‬:‭13‬-‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬
So we ask.
Not because we are afraid, but because we know Who provides. He provides one day at a time … “our daily bread”. We do our part today, then place tomorrow back into the hands of The Almighty God.
This is faith with work boots on.
The steel toed kind.
Some days, it seems that I can carry it easily. Some days I have to say, “Lord, I don’t want to do another dry and empty day … but with You, I can.”
And then I do the next thing.
Because it’s all you and I can do.
Just do the next right thing.
Beloved, will you pray with us for rain?
For the pastures,
the ponds,
the crops,
the cattle,
and every family watching the sky.
Until the rain comes,
we work.
We pray.
We trust.
One day’s provision.
One day’s strength.
One faithful God.
One day at a time.
In His Love and Light,
Angie
