October 16, 2026 Leas Judgy

Sometimes I catch myself scrolling through social media, seeing perfect pictures, pretty people, and picture-perfect lives.
And thinking … judging, actually … ‘Really? Nobody lives like that.’
But here’s what bothers me.
While I’m judging someone for making life look perfect, I’m forgetting that I don’t know what they’re carrying.
Their private pain.
Their silent struggles.
The places they’re still praying for healing.
Jesus said, “For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?” Matthew 7:2-3 ESV
Ouch.
That includes the judgments I keep to myself.
Colossians 3:12 calls us to “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,” (ESV)
I have this thought … ‘maybe that pretty picture is someone’s way of finding beauty in a broken season’.
Maybe that smile hides a struggle.
We simply don’t know.
And Proverbs 4:23 reminds us to guard our hearts, because everything we do flows from them.
Sometimes that means
scrolling past,
stepping away,
putting it down,
asking for fresh perspective,
or simply saying a prayer.
Less comparison.
Less criticism.
More compassion.
Because everybody’s healing from something.
And everybody needs a little grace.
In His Love and Light,
Angie
