August 4, 2026 fresh paint

Yesterday the gray walls in the boys’ old room disappeared under fresh white paint.
Out came the antlers.
The trophies.
The boxes of “I might need this someday.”
3sunz have grown up, moved out, and yet somehow their stuff stayed behind. I have a feeling my sweet daughters-in-law are going to be so excited when we show up with a carload of “what do I do with this.” 😂
Why do we keep things long after their season has passed? I keep thinking about that … stuff. So much stuff.
Not just in closets – but in our lives … in our hearts.
Old regrets, hurts, and labels we were never meant to carry.
“Forget the former things… See, I am doing a new thing.” Isaiah 43:18-19
“Let us throw off everything that hinders.” Hebrews 12:1
Maybe before God paints something new, He’s asking us to simply empty the room.
What are you still holding that He’s asking you to release?
My list is too long.
A fresh can of paint is a good starting point. So is this new day … a clean start.
Thank you, Jesus for the power of a clean heart.
We sang a song in youth group musical called “LightShine” 45 or so years ago … “clean before my Lord, I stand, and in me not one blemish does He seeee. When I placed all my burdens on Him, He washed them all from me…” 🎶
Somebody, besides me, needed this reminder today.
In His Love and Light,
Angie
